Scan Screw For External

Short Description:

In an external fixator, metal pins or screws are placed into the bone through small incisions into the skin and muscle. The pins and screws are attached to a bar outside the skin. Because pins are inserted into bone, external fixators differ from casts and splints which rely solely on external support.

Products Characteristics

Cortical Bone screws and Cancellous Bone screws cooperated with external fixators, it is applied for partial implantation into human body for traction fixation of the bone fracture of four limbs.

Type I cortical bone screws are self drilling and self tapping, they have unsterilized package and sterilized package, Diameter Φ3, Φ4, Φ5, they cooperate the Φ5 andΦ8External fixation system.

Type II cortical bone screws and Cancellous Bone screws can be used with Φ11 External fixation System ,diameter of cortical bone screw Φ1.8, Φ4, Φ5, Φ6, diameter of Cancellous Bone screw Φ5, Φ6.

Medical Tips

Work Principle
When traction is used, a K-wire is often inserted into a bone to provide a rigid anchor to the bone, and then the weight is pulled on the bone (through the wire) to pull the broken extremity into alignment.

What is a cortical screw?
Orthopedics A type of orthopedic hardware used to provide fixation by itself or in conjunction with other devices; CSs have fine threads along the shaft and are designed to anchor in cortical bone.

What is a cancellous screw?
Orthopedics A screw with relatively coarse thread and often with a smooth, unthreaded portion, which allows it to act as a lag screw and to anchor in soft medullary bone.
